Joy & Comfort Holiday Basket Drive

To see threats in this world is reptilian—the ancient part of our brain that leaps to fight, flight, or freeze. But to find meaning and joy amid the brokenness—that requires something distinctly human. It takes intention. Compassion. Community.

For many, joy doesn’t come easily this time of year. When the weight of bills, illness, or grief presses down, even simple celebrations can feel out of reach. That’s where Eat Share’s Joy & Comfort Basket Drive comes in.

Each basket is a gesture of care—a way to share the foods, treats, games, and cozy comforts that make your own holidays bright. Together, these baskets become something larger: a collective reminder that joy is meant to be shared, and that comfort grows when it’s given freely.

Help us fill our community with warmth this season. Donate a basket of joy and comfort—and help your neighbors feel seen, celebrated, and connected.

Contact Kristy at eatsharelove@yahoo.com to get partnered with a local family that has been served by Eat Share this past year. We will share details, like family size, ages, and their likes--you build the basket for delivery.

Basket Ideas include, but are not limited to:

--hot cocoa mix or tea, cookies or baking mix, soft blanket, fuzzy socks & a handwritten holiday card

--board or card games, popcorn & candy, apple cider, puzzle and coloring books

--bath soaps, scented lotions, slippers, herbal tea, book of poetry or journal

--family movie night with snacks, fuzzy blankets & streaming gift cards or DVDs

--shelf stable sides (stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy mix), canned veggies, gift card for local grocery store to purchase meat or produce, festive tablecloth & napkins)

--craft kit or crayons, stickers or storybooks, small toys, hot cocoa & marshmallows, family friendly snacks

--gift certificates for local pizza restaurant & movie theater

--ingredients to make a pancake breakfast with recipe, story, or coloring books
